Maryville College during World War II (1941-1945) was a busy place. Besides the usual College activities, the College hosted the Army Air Forces Officers Training Corps who lived in Carnegie Hall and took classes with MC students. A familiar sight in those years was the troops mustering and marching around campus each day.
Meanwhile, the women in the College Maid Shop spent every spare moment sewing and shipping out nursing uniforms by the hundreds for all military branches.
